How to use Google Maps in a WordPress post

This article will help you learn how to use Google Maps in a WordPress post. The first thing you need to do is to log in to your Google account from the Google Maps link. Then you’ll need to add addresses that have some meaning to you or your community of friends or business associates. This may take some time, but it’s worth it to get a global picture of the sphere of your influence.

You can log all of your favorite addresses and then click on satellite view.

Download the Google Maps Plugin  and upload the plugin to your plugin directory. Set up the options for google maps by putting in a simple API key you can easily get for your map through Google.

You will have to input your API key into WordPress and then when you go to make your posts, you just copy the code that Google Maps gives you and put it into the html side of your post. When you click save, it will rewrite the code and make it so that the map will appear regardless of the original us of the iframes tag.

See the map I’ve created by clicking here. To save on download time, I have the map on the rest of the article.

Sorry, I am still working on getting this plugin to work properly.

    Sherry,

I am just starting to look at Word Press. I have used Blogger in the past. Is there much difference between the two.

    Hi Charles,

I believe that blogger is a free site tool and the difference is that with WordPress you can add all types of functionalities to make you blog do different things.
