I think that they must be planning some things for the future. I do know that when they launch http://www.i-supply.com things will become much better. Right now, they do show up on google.com in a random fashion and they show on http://www.boomj.com. Hang on to your position. I’ve had people in my organization sell ads and people are happy with it.
Thanks for your comments and good luck with your A.E. position!

This perspective is from from a Local Ad Link representative and a business owner – and it’s definitely NOT pro-LocalAdLink.

Local Ad Link has deplorable customer support. There is no phone number to reach anyone other than a computer . . . I have attempted to reach Local Ad Link multiple times through their support desk, and their phone system, regarding a billing error – their mistake, not mine. This error has
already cost me $199.95 plus an additional $178 in bank charges. Do you think LocaL Ad Link has corrected their error? Of course not! So, their error is costing me money, but they’re benefiting from the money they take from others to build their business and brag. They’ll go to their fancy
hoopla in Las Vegas this coming weekend and tell of all the money they’re pulling in – my guess is that the money they’re making is at the expense of many unsuspecting reps and business owners.

I became a representative for Local Ad Link because I know some businesses will purchase Local Ad Link for the convenience of it. Different strokes for different folks. It’s not up to me decide what product is good for a business. A lot of people will pay a premium for convenience. Not everyone
wants to manage their PPC campaigns, nor do they know how – or know of the other options available to them. So, Local Ad Link seemed to be a solution for a certain niche.

I say “seemed to be” because I tested the waters by running my own ad – and discovered that Local Ad Link doesn’t always deliver the advertising a business owner purchases. In my case, they’ve charged me for an ad but I have yet to see it. And, we’re past their 72 hour window – the time when the advertiser pays for their ad but Local Ad Link isn’t contractually obligated to display the ad – well, apparently, Local Ad Link doesn’t feel they need to display the ad after 72 hours, either! It’s been 6 days since I ordered my ad. And my ad is still not on their website, or in my Back Office.

In other words, since I’ve paid Local Ad Link for an ad and it’s not being displayed anywhere, that’s the most expensive advertising I’ve ever seen! I may as well have thrown my money down the drain . . . and, yes, you guessed it . . . Local Ad Link support is not hurrying to correct the problem. Why should they? They have my money.

As far as the business opportunity goes – when you become a rep for Local Ad Link as a BB, you purchase approximately $1,000 in ad inventory that you are supposed to be able to use as a credit towards ads for yourself, or for other business owners, as an incentive to use Local Ad Link.

I wanted to test the system, so I used some of my ad inventory for the ad I referred to above – and I was charged $199.95 for the ad anyway! So, the claim of Local Ad Link ad inventory being available is clearly bogus. Otherwise, why was I charged $199.95 for my ad?

When I contacted Local Ad Link for support, they actually told me that they didn’t charge me! Yeah, right! My bank just made up the charge and somehow erroneously sent the $199.95 to Local Ad Link out of the goodness of their heart? They must think I believe in the Local Ad Link Tooth Fairy too! Gimme a break! How stupid does Local Ad Link think people are?

Local Ad Link also keeps plugging in additional income streams that benefit the company, and not reps or business owners. Now, I have no problem with someone promoting affiliate products. We’re all in business to make money. Local Ad Link selling vista products and cutting edge media leads is their prerogative but, get this . . . they’re actually charging
their reps $1 to view the salespage of cutting edge media! Amazing, but true. They don’t even tell their reps. what cutting edge media is until after the reps pay Local Ad Link for the privilege of reading a salespage! Unbelievable!

I could go on and on, but I have to run for an appointment. I’ll sum this up by saying this – I don’t think most Local Ad Link representatives have a clue about what they’re selling. And, form what I’ve seen, they’re ONLY selling a business opportunity built on sand – there’s no product behind their claims that is worth what they’re charging – in my case, I’ve spent almost $800 between charges, bank fees, and ad credits and have not seen any product at all. Their customer service is sub par, to say the least – for representatives and business owners alike.

Network marketing is a sound business model, but some companies sell hype and not good products too – they bring in people to sell their opportunity – people who don’t know how inferior their product is. The company keepstheir money and, of course, the reps can’t get a refund. Network marketing
companies that treat others like this usually go out of business. I can only hope that Local Ad Link is exposed for what they are, and that others do not lose as much money as I did!

Oh, btw, I also brought 3 reps into the company – when I still trusted their hype – and was to be paid $130 for my efforts – and, guess what happened? No surprise here – they didn’t pay me on time – I received payment nearly 2 weeks late – and I was sent a debit card with outrageous fees attached to it for future payments – like a $3.50 per month privilege fee, .50 per transaction fees – and a whole list of other charges for each withdrawal, etc. – guess who thinks that’s a “convenient” way to pay their reps? Yep, Local Ad Link – who is undoubtedly making money on these fees while their reps are paying to help this company be profitable until they go public in a year or so.

And, of course, future payments to reps is based on continuous ad sales – you know, selling those ads that don’t get placed, and then having the reps handle the complaints from their customers, since no one can reach customer support. How long do you think ethical reps will continue to sell for Local Ad Link? Not long . . .and we all know who will keep the money
earned by those reps – yep, the company: Local Ad Link.

In my experience, all I’ve seen is that Local Ad Link collects fees on everything, doesn’t deliver their ads within their alloted timeframe, doesn’t pay their reps according to their contracted agreement, doesn’t investigate their support inquiries or answer them with reasonable solutions – and treats their reps and business advertisers like they’re
idiots. From what I’ve seen, I could not recommend Local Ad Link ads OR business opportunity to anyone with a conscience!

    Hi Sara,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the local adlink company. I need to agree with you that their customer service department needs improvement. They are adding people to this department and I think that they are in their infancy and had no idea how fast this would take off. I’m sure they will take care of your banking errors.

As far as your personal experience with creating your own ad I think that you made an error when you were placing the ad. I placed my own ad and know why you made the error. When you use your own credits, you have to select the right choices and you have to notice what the ending price is that shows right on your screen. I know it’s an easy error to make and I can see how someone could make it. If I were you, I would contact customer support and tell them what happened. They have an email support system in their back office and they are responding to them so I hope you get that resolved.

I do think that the customer support system will improve and that your situtation can be made right. I do know that the ad placements do work. I have seen this product work correctly and still think that this is a viable business opportunity.

When I attended a meeting with over 300 people in attendance, I was very impressed with the fact that this is a legitimate business that will continue to grow and get better technically.

I wish you had been on my team so I could have helped you trouble shoot your technical problems with your ads and with your charges. I do still believe you can get those rectified and I encourage you to keep contacting their service department.

Keep me posted!. And thanks for your input.

I am a BB. I have been one for about 6 weeks. The company has done amazingly well developing local zip codes in my area in this brief time period. I gave this about 1 week of my time and currently have a large number of people on my team and we are doing very well. I see the value in the local community. It is HUGE! I am very successful in other areas, including sales… local ad link advertising is the easiest sale ever.
Customer support is horrible. The solution to the problem is call your credit card company and threaten to cancel and that really speads up the time it takes for them to get back to you. Other than that, don’t screw anything up so you don’t need tech support. Business’s that are advertising have great looking sites and coupons. I do not have any problem getting paid. The value of the stock is going to be huge. And I am going to have plenty of places to spend my community cash. One of my team members did have the same problem with the “free” advertising but we got it worked out. I am full throtle all in with local ad link. There is way more good than bad with this company.

  7. Alisha Brandt on Wed, 25th Mar 2009 12:11 pm

In theory, local ad link sounds good. That’s why I began selling the product at the beginning. Now I am in a long battle with the company, because their product DOES NOT WORK! They say their customers will be advertised on search engines and web sites. All of my customers have yet (after 2 months) to appear on ANY websites or search engines apart from localadlink.com Upon contacting the company, they told me they did not garentee any web adverstising apart from their own site. Therefore, their sales books are all false and are nothing but LIES to their customers. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!!

  8. Sherry Tingley on Thu, 26th Mar 2009 1:03 am

    Alisha,

Thanks for your comment. It’s good to get both sides of the picture. I do think that with a little help you would be able to find these ads on other sites. If you go to http://www.boomj.com you can see ads appearing there.

What I did was when I was deciding on this company was to call the people who had purchased ads – those that showed on localadlink.com and talked to them. On the whole, they had good things to say.

When they launch i-supply, they will have an instant ad placement on thousands of sites. They have admittedly and openly said that their business is in it’s infancy.

I’m ready to roll with some of the setbacks that may occur in the growing stages. My team is easily selling ads and growing.

  9. Sherry Tingley on Thu, 26th Mar 2009 1:04 am

    Hi Hayley,

I am so glad to hear your report. I hope your team breaks sales records. Good luck to you!

  10. Kurt on Wed, 8th Apr 2009 9:03 pm

Sara & Alisha are exactly right. I’m a BB that’s given this company every chance. I have the EXACT same problems that Sara is having. No credit for my BB packages and wrongly billing my customers….and they were NOT happy. Top that off with the fact that the two clients I did sign up never got any more exposure than localadlink and boomj (which i believe is populated with names purchased by the site).

Finally, customer support is as bad as I have ever experienced. They may be going through growing pains, but I’d avoid them for a very long time!

  11. Sherry Tingley on Thu, 9th Apr 2009 12:06 pm

Well, I appreciate you sharing your experiences. I’m so glad that there is a way for people to see both sides of the picture. I certainly hope they get your billing problems sorted out. I have heard that people are experiencing trouble with their customer support. I hope they will resolve these issues soon. I hate to see them lose the support of good people like yourself that have given them a decent try and had problems. Keep us posted on any further resolution or problems. Thanks for your comments!

  12. Penny Tingley on Sat, 9th May 2009 8:38 pm

    Sherry,

Local Ad Link has been great for me. While it did have some customer support issues in the begining; the new CRM FAQs and training information/videos provided cover and resolve the issues addressed above. I have found there are sour grapes in all corporations and most isues are resolved if everyone would read the agreements and terms and conditions, then go to their websites and learn what Local Ad Link does and does not claim to do. My team and customers have been positive and if we had an issue we followed the process laid out–Keep up the good work. See you in Vegas in June

  13. Sherry Tingley on Sat, 9th May 2009 9:40 pm

Hey that’s fun that we both have the same last name…:) I think that they are getting their growing pain types of issues resolved and I’d love to see you in Vegas!

I joined Local ad link when first week of 2009. It was good for about 1 month… sold ad’s… businesses were happy… and I got paid

2/15/09 the whole thing fell apart for me… found out they did not have an ad network that they were “pushing contextual ad’s out to up and running”… they simply lied to me.

they couldn’t afford to keep paying google so the search engine results disappeared for over a month.. never recovered from that

from the 58 people I know in the biz… they have NEVER paid the residual commission for an ad. that is one of their main selling points when recuiting people “make a residual income” they continue to say “their working on system”. It’s been 4 months… fraud

I heard they bounced 597 checks in March, I know they bounced 2, cause they were ours… I still have not been paid…

from what I hear there are several people ready to spear head a class action suite…

doubt this company will make it, they are all over the internet as a fraud, if they had to get 1.7 million from the CEO’s son’s holding company you know their hurting

this is just based on my experience, my biz ad’s, and my team
Personally I gave up even trying to collect the money they owe me

also… 11 rip off reports filed recently… link provided

It’s been interesting to watch the reputation of this company. I think that over the course of time, more and more negative reports have been coming in and that is never good. If they don’t fix some of these problems, I can’t see any future for them. I started out with a positive attitude about them, but now I’m doubting them myself. Thanks for your comments!

    BBB Reliability Report for LocalAdLink

    CompanyRating: F

We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints,
their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements,
their complaints contain especially serious allegations.

Today is the third time LocalAdLink is staging an official launch. Do you see anything different today?

Today I cannot find any LocalAdLink merchant ads on Google. I had a short set of search phrases in specific cities where I could find the LocalAdLink ads once in awhile. But today I cannot find any ads. Do you know what happened?

  18. Sherri on Mon, 1st Jun 2009 5:56 pm

    Hi All,

I think you should give LAL some time to iron out the kinks. I got in on the ground floor of an e-commerce network marketing company 9 months ago. There was back then, and probably even now, negative blog and comments about the business. All I can say is that having given the business a chance has changed my life.

I feel good about the leadership in LAL and am going to give the business a shot. I am successful and my e-commerce business and smell a good opportunity here as well.

  19. Sherry Tingley on Mon, 1st Jun 2009 6:38 pm

I don’t know what happened there. Did you contact your immediate upline to ask this?

  20. Sherry Tingley on Mon, 1st Jun 2009 6:39 pm

I’m glad you have a positive comment to make. I hope Local Adlink fixes their problems quickly. I’m sure it’s not good for their business to have so many things go wrong.

  21. Lori Perrine on Mon, 3rd Aug 2009 7:22 pm

I bought into the Local Ad Links Scam and got nothing out of it but less money in my purse. I started reading up on it (which I wish I had done before I wasted my money) and see that the internet is FULL of similar stories as mine of other folks getting duped by this company. I’ve read how shady the owners are as well as some of the BBs. This is just like the Bernie Madoff Scam, the company spend money to prop itself up in the begining and all appears well, so others think it looks good and invest. BUt just like the Madoff scam, it eventually collapses on itself and all of us little people end up with no recourse but to kiss out money good bye!!

Sherry really? Do you work for them or what. NO one but an insider would be trying so hard to prop up this debacle with all the desperate explainations you’re giving with out having
sort of stake in the scam or you’re being paid to try and spin all of the failures into positives. If so maybe you should get a good honest job like telemarketing people while they try to enjoy their dinners.

  22. Sherry Tingley on Mon, 3rd Aug 2009 9:01 pm

I don’t work for Local Adlink. I did have a good experience with this company in the beginning. I have since gotten so much negative feedback from people about it that I think that they have some issues they may not be able to work out. I don’t think you should compare this to Bernie Madoff’s activities. I’m not sure that Local Adlink has actually been prosecuted for wrong doing. If they have, please let me know.

  23. Marius on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 6:33 pm

I have subscribed with LocalAdlink through an local rep.
He encouraged me to see the main video presentation about the company. OK.
I was waiting for more then 2 months to get a decent nr ok clicks ( more the 3 ) and nothing.
The rep and the Technical support , after this 2 months, mentioned that they will need to re lowed, re bouth, then only 2 keywords that I have. OK.
I decided to enroll with their $200 pack and 50 zip codes.
They promised that i will get many clicks on my site.
Again , i have another 2 months and in some weeks I have 0, and in some weeks just 10. I know from my web host ( yahoo) that I have regular more then 100 unique visits on my web site , but non are coming from Adlink. ( I also can check from what browsers those click are coming.

So I am completely disappointed. More then the potential money loss are the last 4 months of
    irrecoverable gap in advertisement.
